SPARK Program
What and Why is SPARK?
SPARK is an outreach program done by Clement's German National Honor Society (GNHS) in where GNHS members teach basic German skills to seventh and eighth graders to help them get a leg up for their first year of foreign language in high school. SPARK is unique to Clements HS and is a great option to get to know some of the content of German 1 to ease the transition into high school. German at Clements is now the second biggest language program in the Clements LOTE (languages other than english) department with roughly a 20:1 student-faculty ratio. This makes CHS German a great option to receive a strong, personalized education in LOTE. Additionally, many top colleges require at least 3 years of foreign language; FBISD requires 2 for graduation. Lastly, getting involved early with CHS German helps open new doors like leadership in Clements German Club or GNHS and student exchange programs like GAPP (German American Partnership Program).
When and Where is SPARK?
SPARK will be held every Monday for 4 weeks starting on November 18th and ending on December 16th (excluding November 25th).
